Wes Edens is a man who sees things in a new way and always looking for new places to expand. He is one of the owners of the Aston Villa soccer team and he and another owner have a new idea. They want to bring a Major League Soccer (MLS) to the city of Las Vegas. The head of MLS is intrigued by the prospect. Here is a little more on what the deal entails.
Wes Edens and Nassef Swahiris have come together to pitch the idea. The team would be located in Las Vegas which has seen quite a bit of growth over the years. The two have already come up with a name for the team and it will be the Las Vegas Villains. Even though the project is in the early stages it would be able to bring in more fans to the game of soccer. Wes Edens can see the possibility of Vegas working out but there are a couple of other locations in the mix as well including Phoenix and San Diego.
Wes Edens is one of the most respected owners in MLS. He knows a good idea when he sees one and other owners would like to be [part of this deal as well. Another group that includes Bill Foley and other investors would like to see the project come to fruition. The MLS would like to have a new team in place by 2026. Don Garber says that Vegas is an interesting choice but it is way too early to speculate on such a move. There is a long way to go before a team can be put in place. All of the options must be taken into consideration. Wes Edens is at the forefront of this project and he likes Las Vegas.
